Non-Typical Solutions Report post Posted October 24, 2011 Most of our pictures in the past have been coues, turkey and bears. We moved one of our cameras about a mile from where our other cameras have been and man, were we suprised at what we found. Now, the big question...is there a chance that the deer to the right in these last two photos is a coues???

elkaholic Report post Posted October 25, 2011 One coues buck in all those muleys would kinda be out of place - i'd say a young 3 point muley.
270wsm Report post Posted October 25, 2011 +1 for muley. If he wasn't in a group of muley bucks it'd be harder to tell.

Non-Typical Solutions Report post Posted October 26, 2011 Adding fuel to the discussion about whether that second buck is a whitetail or not, how about this shot. Look at the smaller features of the buck on the right compared to the mulie on the left. Realizing that the mulie on the left is a mature buck and all, but the features from head to hoof are just bigger. Another shot, and one thing that is consistent with the whitetail pictures from the past, they always have that rough looking hide/hair like this buck does. Just trying to plead my case that there is a mix of bucks here.
NRS Report post Posted October 27, 2011 Looks like a coues, it has a small metatarsal gland on the inside of the back leg. The one on the big buck is definitely larger in relation to the length of that part of the leg.
