.270 Report post Posted October 22, 2011 i got a pistol scope from TAM to put on my 629 smith. when i bought it they guy gave me a mount and a set of ring for it so i assumed it was drilled and tapped. well, it ain't. needs 3 holes drilled and tapped on the top strap. anyone know a good gunsmith that i can take it to that does a good job, won't take a month and won't charge a fortune? my last experience with a real simple job didn't work out real well. work was fine, but it took forever and was real expensive. POJV Report post Posted October 22, 2011 Lark, Give Kent a call he is an independent and works from home. I needed a new sight for my Smith 28, due to the fact that my uncle filed down the original back in the 60 to put a scope on, and I wished to go back to open sight and did an excellent job.
