Man found dead inside residence on the Big Boquillas Ranch near Seligman

Authorities say 56-year-old James Clayton was shot

 

 

 

SELIGMAN, Ariz. - Coconino County Sheriff's Office (CCSO) deputies and detectives are investigating the homicide of 56-year-old James Clayton from the Seligman area. On Oct. 2 at approximately 1:30 p.m. deputies assigned to the Williams Patrol Division responded to a report of a deceased person at a residence located on the Big Boquillas Ranch, which is north west of Seligman.

 

Upon their arrival deputies found Clayton deceased inside his home. It appeared he had been dead for several days. Deputies and detectives conducted an initial investigation of the crime scene and had the body was removed to the Coconino County Medical Examiner's Office for further investigation. During the preliminary investigation, detectives were unable to determine the manner or mode of death.

 

The Coconino County Medical Examiner conducted an autopsy on Clayton's body on Oct. 4 and discovered a bullet inside Clayton's body cavity. The medical examiner also discovered an entry wound that was not visible during the initial inspection of the body.

 

Coconino County detectives are pursuing this investigation and are actively following up on multiple leads. Was just up there last week huntin on the Boquillas stayed in seligman didnt here anything, That ashame prayers to the family

This is my uncle. I hope and pray everyday that the police will find the person that did this to him. He was a great person. Did everything he dreamed to do in life.

 

 

 

how many hunters knew this person ?-any idea how many people go thru the area in a day - a week etc. especially during hunting season.
