BAD HIT FOR HUNTERS

Recommended Posts

I was on another very popular website and found this post... This is not good for hunters and or members of this website......... I hope the campers responsible for this read this and realize what they could have possibly done.

I was in 6a helping my little cousin get his Jr cow tag filled which only took me 30 min last sunday, there was a camp about 300 yards down from us on long park rd, they left a messy trashy camp, and also they burned all there weekend trash in the pit, cans , milk jugs , and to top it of it was smoking like crazy with hot coles. Great way to teach future hunters how to respect mother nature. Worst thing about is they were in the hunting community as one truck sported a large coueswhitetail.com sticker.

Good reminder to think about the impression you leave with the public while at camp and when you leave. I always try to leave our camp cleaner than it was when we got there. I take a lot of trash home with me that isn't mine. And please make sure your campfires are out when you leave camp!! Even if it's not windy when you leave, it may be later and re-stoke those coals.

maybe this can be like the big archery elk soap opera we had earlier this fall. lets us see if someone knows someone who knows someone who is willing to fink on the sorry rat with the cw sticker that left the smokin' fire and trash. and then he can defend his actions as really being ok and necessary and what the guy saw really wasn't as bad as he said it was, even tho one speck o' trash and even one warm ember is 1000 times too much. let the detective work and rumors begin. as far as i'm concerned, leaving trash and a fire is as bad and maybe even worse than a lotta the other stuff that gets folks goats. poachin' included. it is infinitely worse than driving by a tank that has a "sign" on it or messin' with a trail camera or sitting on water that some other guy thinks he owns. if this kinda stuff don't really piss ya off, i mean like @$$ whoopin' piss ya off then, you need to take up skateboardin' or be a vegitarian or some other stupid waste o' time. we just went through the worst fire season ever in this state and are gonna be dealing with it's affects for generations and some stupid, slobby, no good, jerk, dumb@$$ that lurks around here does somethin' like this? i ain't kiddin' ya, this is inexcusable and i wanna hear from the guy that did it. one of those little plastic rings that is under the lid on a bottle o' water is too much trash. anything you can see from the road needs pounded up the @$$ of the guy that left it. a burning fire? well, i won't even say what i think about that. this ain't right guys. especially from anyone who uses this sight. Lark.

I take pride in leaving my camp as spotless as can be and the fire out completely. Those who have been in my camps can vouch for that. There's no excuse for this. I cleaned up someone's trash and put out their fire during my spring turkey hunt and wished I would have taken down their license plate number. You can bet I will next time. This is my biggest pet peeve among all outdoor users.

Lark......I'm buying tickets on the 50yrd line for this one. B)

More information from the original poster. Im not trying to get anyone busted here just hoping it will give them the gut wrenching feeling I would get if it was me.......

Sounds good, If I was a member I would of done the same!!! It was horrible , they left 2 or 3 big bags in the fire ring. they had 2 elk hanging and a gold or tan powerstroke and 2 duramax one white i think the other is blue, with 3 toy haulers. there was another camp with a charcoal grey duramax down the way also with a coueswhitetail.com sticker It wasnt him!!!

Thanks !!!

Sad - I was in 6A on the fall turkey hunt and me and my kids spent part of one day cleaning trash from some joker's old camp site. Looked like they too tried to burn all their old trash. Not to mention the numerous beer and soda cans we picked up. I just don't get it - I wish I could give out tickets for littering.

My son and I were hunting in the Chiricauhas a few years ago and we came up to a camp that had an abandoned campfire that was still going strong, even better they had left a jerry can full of gas about 4 yards from the fire and it had a hole in it and was leaking everywhere very slowly. How nice would it have been had the leaking gas made it to the fire? We spent about an hour cleaning their campsite up and then poured the gas into the fire and brought home the jerry can so we could throw it away. Was a good lesson for him on putting out your fire and cleaning up your camp. ag

if the azgfd sees this stuff they can cite you, and you can lose your license, hunting and fishing, for up to 5 years. just a few beer cans in a fire ring can do it. there are also little serial number deals on beer and soda cans that can be used to prove who done it. as stupid as these guys are, they probably left something with their name and address on it in the trash. need to find out who this guy is and make him give up his cw sticker. guys like this need to be weeded out. we need to self police ourselves. rat these sorry jerks out. Lark.

I still see no where that states they left a burning fire. They simply had a fire and burned trash in it.

No beer or soda has a serial # that is going to trace anyone to anyone or store.

We do need to police ourselves and others. Aside from leaving a messy trashy camp I don't see the uproar. I do understand people need to be educated on how to leave stuff. I wonder how much trash was left and what. "messy" meant.

I see now where it says 2-3 big bags of trash. Some people just don't know pack it in pack it out

Maybe just maybe the other post on the "other popular website" was inflammatory against CWT ?

However I prefer to jump to conclusions accuse people, call them names, then demand they come out a plead to the members of CWT their side of the story.

Must of been a bunch of rich hunters who thought their maids were gonna pick it up

I dont think this was the case. I think it was a sober reminder that we carry an image when we hunt and shoot, and with a forum sticker on our rigs it makes us look like idiots when we do stupid things. The public see this sticker on a truck and assume ALL its members act like this. I dont think it matters what site you affiliate with, if your going to support a group by having the forum logo up, dont shame it!

hey vegas jeep, what do you mean it says nothing about fire? what does smoking and hot embers mean? i guess there is no chance of a little breeze whipping up a flame. one of game warden and forest ranger tricks is to come into your camp when you're away. take any kinda cans you have laying around and put em by your license plate where the serial number shows and take a photo of em together and then come back after you left and if there is a can with a number left on it, you're busted. i know it happens. i know a guy that had it happen to him. so if you want to think different, that's fine, but it does happen. and don't try to trivialize this. after the year we had with fires anyone who does this really needs a tune up. and leaving trash in inexcusable. there is no way to rationalize or justify this kinda stuff. Lark.
