AZLance Report post Posted February 7, 2006 March 11th is the big date! The Arizona Hunters Who Care Spring Cleanup day is fast aproaching. This year is going to be bigger and better than ever before. Not only will we be picking up 25+tons of trash as usuall, but we will be renovating a water catchment in unit 36A, and enhancing a new trail into Brown Canyon in 36C. So if Trash is not your game, we will have something for you. And of course, we will have the same ole events as before, free lunch, tons of raffle prizes, and a small 3D archery course for the kids. This year we have secured the Veterans Memorial Park in 3 points, so the drive will be a little shorter, and the accomidations a lot better. We will start the weekend off on Friday night with a big game cookout, followed by events all day Saturday, and another cookout on Saturday night. Come for all or just part of the fun. We need volunteers and donations to pull this event off. We are expecting over 400 people to show up and help out Arizonas Habitat. If you can help please e-mail me at azhunterswhocare@hotmail.com or call 520-886-6385 We especially need some volunteers to help with the 3D archery course for kids, and with cooking as well. Hope to see all of you hunters out here to help out Arizona's Wildlife. Please RSVP Lance Altherr Arizona Hunters Who Care azhunterswhocare@hotmail.com

BASS Report post Posted February 7, 2006 How do you guys choose what area you want to clean up? Does the owner of the area (surounding areas?) contact you guys or what? We are also trying to get a group together to head down to the Mercer Ranch to help them out a bit.
AZLance Report post Posted February 8, 2006 We will be cleaning up areas in the units 36 A,B & C. We contact the ranches that give hunters access, we also cleanup on state and federal land as well. We have picked up over 100,000 pounds of trash at previous cleanups. Hope to see you all there. We should have some awesome prizes that compare to some of the big banquets this year, and you dont have to buy a raffle ticket at our event. How do you guys choose what area you want to clean up?
