Distance Report post Posted October 12, 2011 I was supposed to hunt with some friends, but due to miscommunication, I got drawn for a totally different hunt. I pulled a tag for WT in that unit. I'm wondering if anyone else is hunting at the same time since I'll be flying solo. Thanks,
200"mulie Report post Posted October 12, 2011 Sorry to hear that.....i'm actually headed up to unit 10 next week, first time going up that far north. Haven't been in 32 in 10, maybe 11 years. But back then there was plenty of deer. I think we concentrated on the east side...but watch out for mix deer country.

Distance Report post Posted October 23, 2011 Got called to work on opening day oh well. gonna head out early tomorrow moring with my day. it will be a short hunt. have to work monday. good luck everyone. Went out Saturday. No real luck. Glassed up on a waterhole for a couple of hours and had a doe and two fawn walk 20 feet from us. Will try to go back out Tuesday. That is a rough area, very rugged and dry and has very little deer sign. Had fun getting out with my dad. This is where we had our only encounter.
Distance Report post Posted October 28, 2011 Well.....no luck. Partly due to my fault, basically, the lack of scouting. Turns out I never made it far enough up the road to get into the area with a lot more deer. (so I am told). only went out two days. We saw one doe with two fawns. some tracks. some poop. a dead cow. a dead goat. No bucks. I did find these cool grasshoppers: Grashopper soup anyone?
mp_moody Report post Posted October 28, 2011 No kidding, I saw grasshoppers in every color and every combination over in unit 29. It seemed my radiator preferred to collect the black bodied ones with red wings.
