WildHeritageTaxidermy Report post Posted October 10, 2011 First bull has 54" of antler reconstruction, also customer has low ceilings, so we altered a wall pedestal mount to lower the head and antlers, second bull has 24" reconstructed and 3 main beam breaks repaired. Mulie scored 193" with the velvet striped, replaced with artificial velvet. Bison Euro with reproduction horns made in house, the original horns will be put on the shoulder mount done as a wall pedestal, later in the year. Chukars done as a dead mount on a barnwood plaque. Coach Report post Posted October 10, 2011 What do you guys charge for artificical velvet? I've got a decent 3x3 muley I killed in velvet. Not something I'll dump much money into, but he looked much better with the "fluff" before I boiled him out. My local taxidermist said it would be around $200 or more as he had to send them to Mexico for a spray-on application.
Coach Report post Posted October 10, 2011 BTW, really nice job on the faces of that elk and mule deer. They look alive and natural. You have a really artistic, but realistic touch. I like it.

Coues Sniper Report post Posted October 11, 2011 Coach, You sure you want to do that artificial velvet? It never really looks right. Nothing against any work in this post, it all is top notch stuff. It's just very easy to spot that aftermarket velvet
WildHeritageTaxidermy Report post Posted October 11, 2011 Coach, if you are interested in the velvet I need to know how many lineal inches of antler there is. No mass or inside spread. Dale WHT
AZP&Y Report post Posted October 11, 2011 Good stuff! I like the Chukars. You just don't see that mount very often in Az. AzP&Y
