mr_grandote Report post Posted February 2, 2006 Some people thought the King ranch mule picture might be a fake. Guess I am not sure, but here are some pictures I am sure ARE fake. Here is a mountain lion - coues hybrid... Josh Epperson with his first coues doe... a local with one horn from king ranch mule deer...(actual size) and last but not least, my son with antlers... my point is just that it is rather easy to fake a picture, so who knows if that buck picture is real or not. No way to know for sure.

az4life Report post Posted February 7, 2006 I think a lot of us are skeptical when it comes to pictures. Too many fakes have given need to really look things over before believing them. The internet is much safer if the "Doubting Thomas" is wake in all of us.
DotShot Report post Posted February 11, 2006 Well, when i hunted the ranch last year (chuckle) i shot one that looked way similar, but without the drops..... Cmon peeps, photoshop is a wonderful tool and can give anyone the trophy of a lifetime! btw.. it took me about 5 minutes to remove the 2 drops and the shadows, someone with patience could do alot better in more time.... DEERSLAM Report post Posted February 11, 2006 I guess almost anything is now possible It just sucks when someone has nothin better to do than start rumors and send bogus pics. It also sucks when a real monster is shot and it is automatically questioned because of what is happening on the internet
DotShot Report post Posted February 11, 2006 THe only reason this picture even interests me is because while i was down in south Texas deer hunting on the family ranch this Dec/Jan we stopped at a convenience store off of Highway 281 between San Antonio and Corpus Christi and on the bulletin board was this exact picture but in black and white on regular copier paper. Now, having said that, each year down in that part of Texas they have a big buck contest and everyone (and i do mean everyone) enters big, little, indifferent and i never once saw this buck entered nor did i hear anyone talking about this deer and usually when a huge buck is killed in texas word is everywhere (i.e the Bullis buck of 2004). If you havent read of the Bullis Buck do yourself a favor and look it up its worth looking at and the story is amazing and sad at the same time. Now back to this particular deer it very well may be legit but I for one am going to have to be a doubting Thomas......
