Are their any radios without call alert or roger beep

Recommended Posts

I would like to buy a new set of motorola talkabout radios, but the last ones I bought I couldn't dissable the call alert or roger beep. That is the most anoying sound in the world when you are trying to use a radio.

Any info on some radios that can be quieted would be apreciated.

Thanks

David

With most motorola radios....if you hold down the minus sine as you turn it on it should silent it...

I tried that with my last pair and it wouldn't work. The darned things are blister packed so it is hard to check them.

Interesting, I just tried that with a radio that was driving me crazy all last weekend and it worked. So How do you turn the annoying beep back on?

My Midland's are about 5 years old. I can turn off all beeps/noises. They also have the call-vibrate feature, which is great for silently calling your partner. I've had great luck with Midland. FYI - the "Bubba" model did not have the call-vibrate feature last time I checked.

Get an earbud with the built in microphone that clips on your collar.. That cures the beeps and alerts. You just hear it through the earbud.

I bought some at Sportsmans Warehouse (Midland) and the Roger beep can be turned off pretty easily.
