Cope&Horns Report post Posted September 29, 2011 This is my first year hunting coues deer, so far having fun practicing, scouting and glassing. Any additional info on how to hunt them? Any thing special about them? Any info would greatly be appreciated, thanks
Red Rabbit Report post Posted September 29, 2011 Duwane Adams and Tony Mandile wrote a book about hunting coues. It would be a good read for you. http://www.coueswhitetail.com/bookstore/books.htm DuWane also has a glassing video http://www.coueswhitetail.com/bookstore/hunting_videos.htm#glassing dvds and gives glassing lessons that I hear are a good learning experience. Most of the coues hunting DVDs are entertainment, and not much on technique and tactics, imo. Some info on the home pages http://www.coueswhitetail.com/hunt_strategies/hunting_strategies.htm Good luck on your hunt and welcome to cwt.com.

cardawg Report post Posted September 29, 2011 I just finished this book and found if very helpful,I drew a tag in unit 8 this year, but there was no info in the book on that area,so I took a chance and looked up Mr.Adams number and called and left a message. Not only did he call me back, but he spent about a 1/2 hour giving me tips on Coues hunting, and also gave me some areas to start in that unit, what a great guy,I was so surprised,if I can ever afford it ,you can bet he will be the guide I choose first!
