Coues 'n' Sheep Report post Posted February 6, 2006 I found the same thing for the rut this year, very hit and miss and I saw no heavy rutting but did see some bucks following does and smelling but no chasing or chousing as I normally see. I agree about the weather. Congratulations on such a fine trophy! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> We were fortunate to have a few, brief "bursts" of rut where we hunt. But, it was very hard at times to be patient in the field. We had better hope and pray for a lot of wet weather right NOW if we want things to be good in the year to come..... I am going to ask for a hard wet winter next year as well..... so if anyone here has an inside line to God please ask him for me...... Thanks for the compliments on our success. A lot time went into those bucks. I can't say enough about my buddy, Jason, and the effort he put into his hunt this year. He is truly becoming a GREAT archery Coues Deer hunter!
