CouesFanatic Report post Posted September 25, 2011 My dad drew a rifle antelope tag this year and we didn't want to waste it. We spent a pretty good amount of time scouting and found these bucks: We called this the ram buck: Another buck: And the big boy, this guy was a nice buck: When the hunt rolled around, the big boy was nowhere to be found so we went and put a stalk on number 2. We got 300 yards away from the does and a small buck came running 1/2 mile away towards the buck and his does. The buck ran off chasing the small buck. We snuck around a hill and the does wandered to 250 yards. We couldn't see the buck over the crest of the ridge so I stood up. Still couldn't see anything. All of a sudden I see this buck running straight at me at 80 yards. He turned and ran down the hill, giving my dad a 225 yard shot. We are pleased with the buck. He has no cuts or chips or broken tips. Just a super pretty buck and a fun time. And the trophy photo:
