Nikon Prostaff BDC Scope

Recommended Posts

Hey out there I was hoping you guys could help me out! My nephew recently bought my brother a Weatherby 300 for Christmas and now he needs a Scope, he's kinda finacially limited to what he can buy and I have seen this Nikon BDC at different locations and was wondering if anyone owns or has used one any info would be great. P.S. the reason I am intersted in this scope is becaus of the Bullet Drop Comp on it but if someone knows of another scope for around $200 - $300 please let me know. Thank you and best wishes to all.

I have a nikon BDC scope on my weatherby, and I love it. So far it has proved very accurate to my nikon range finder as I have taken all the game I have shot at with one shot. Scope is very clear.

I have several of those scopes and I like them. That being said if the budget is 200-300 you should buy the vortex viper for 250 off of Cameraland. You will not get the bdc reticle but that scope is leaps and bounds ahead of the prostaff.

Get the Vortex Viper. The turret system is Awesome. You will not regret it. There scopes are much better than Nikon in my opinion.

I originally wanted the Vortex Viper but I finally settled for the Vortex Diamondback 4-12X40 with the Dead Hold BDC. So far it has been an awesome scope on my 300 Win. Mag and wass\ only $200.00 at Sportsmans. I also looked at the Prostaff and it didnt seem as clear as the Vortex IMO.

Have the nikon bdc and it's ok. Switched up to vortex viper 6.5-20x44 with the dead hold bdc and love it but could be a little more then you wanted to spend if I remember right. The vortex scopes I've looked through seem alot more clear and bright than the nikons I have.

I would look at the Burris Fullfield II 4.5-14x42 with the ballistic plex. You can find it online for $250-300 and it is a better scope than the ProStaff in my opinion.

Go for the Nikon Buckmaster 6-18x40 with BDC. Great scope for the money, has target turrets and the BDC System as well. Can be picked up for $309 at midway.

Midway is www.midwayusa.com

They are a very popular shooting, reloading, and everything else company. Good customer service, but I can usually find what they are selling for cheaper at other places.

As for the Buckmaster, you are going to get a good scope with the nikon. That being said, I have owned and shot the buckmaster, and now the vortex viper. I will not own another scope that doesn't say vortex on it. All of the features that STOMP442 mentioned can be had on the vortex scope for less money, and a better warranty. Don't get me wrong I don't think you will be dissapointed with the Nikon, but I know you won't be dissapointed with the Vortex.
