kennyazman Report post Posted September 13, 2011 my wife and i have archery cow tags in 7e. first of all, this is my first attempt at a cow instead of a bull, not only that but also its a new unit to me. we were up hunting this past weekend and let me tell you i was in for a surprise at how diffidult it actually turned out to be. i never thought i would ever be doing this but im actually asking for help on how to approach these cows during a rut hunt. I expected the bulls to be bugling and my strategy was going to be to find the bulls and i would find cows with them, however since the bulls were not bugling yet it really threw me for a loop. hopefully this will not be the case next weekend when we go back up for another try. any advice from some of you guys would be appreciated. oh yeah i forgot to mention this is my wifes first time ever hunting anything and she is in the begining throwing up stages of pregnancy so we were very limited as to how much getting out and hiking we could actually do. so you see what kind of obstacles im faced with but i would really like my wife to be able to tag an elk. honestly i could care less if i shoot one but i thought it would be fun to hunt together so i put us in together for a hunt i knew we would probably get. tell me what you think. thanks. send me pms if you would like and i will let you know where we were hunting although im pretty sure location wasnt the problem. azcouesfanatic Report post Posted September 13, 2011 Tough unit. It should dry out next week and if it does I would look for water especially if your wife is pregnant. I would also select a salt lick but it's a little late to start one right now. Glassing with radios also works well in 7e. Good luck Brian

Bisbee Report post Posted September 14, 2011 [Have you been up to Kaiser lake? My son and I were up there, this time of year, awhile back and the sign was thick. Bisbee
