WadeNAZ Report post Posted September 19, 2011 Not to say necessarily anything to do with what happened in this case but Elkoholic IMO hit the nail on the head and echoes much of what I think on this subject. Hunting with family and other hunters in a group is not necessarily a bad thing and when I do so (especially with someone who I have not hunted with before or doesnt know much about it) it is important to use it as a teaching experience about the ethics that go along with hunting. My take is that there are a lot of trophy hunters out there wether they are an outfitter, guide, DIY hunter that get "Stupid" about it. and I compare it to Tournement fisherman who for the sake of winning or for the sake of trying to win some cash, have little or no concern for those around them. They tend to push the bounderies of courtesy and space if not have no care at all other than obtaining the goal they seek. So if you fish as well as hunt I am sure you can relate to this and if you are a tournement fisherman then you know how I feel about you in general as well. Your buddy did not molest the wounded bull or 2. Unknowingly molested the wounded bull and if so should of done everything in his power to help recover the animal or 3.knowingly molested a wounded bull because he promised his client this bull and he probably put in many hours and gas dollars babysitting the bull and got pissed off some other ya hoo out flanked him to get the shot or 4. The shooter did something unethical to begin with to get the shot so he molested the bull as a revenge thing. My first post was Sept. 14 at 7:06 a.m. However Tjwking made a post on monstermuleys at 9:08 p.m. on Sept 13 where he explained the situation and I put 2 and 2 together, figured since he was asking about certain information on this site, and it was posted by the same person who set forth the facts on monstermuleys, that it was the same incident, and that is why I made reference to the link without adding any facts. I made a deduction, much better than you have, which turned out to be correct. Did I know it was the same incident, no, but it sure seemed likely based on the same person making the post about the facts and then asking about a person and truck on this site. Really did not seem like a very difficult determinatiobn to make. So there you have it Sherlock, I thought they were related, and guess what I was right, you aren't. richardoutwest Report post Posted September 20, 2011 I am not on here to defend my friend, he can defend himself. All I am asking, is that we wait for the other side of the story. It's not just this instance but anybody that finds themselves in this type of situation. We should not string anyone up until both sides have posted 1st hand. The other hunter is still hunting, you wait sometimes 15 years for this tag and I really think this is his priority. This forum and accusations can wait till after the hunt. I posted up because I do not care for people who forum jump and bring their trash to a respectable forum based on second hand info. He states that he does not know the parties and is not caelkhnter from monsteermulys. That is impossible, either he is caelkhnter who started the mess over their or he does know one of the hunting parties. Who goes onto a forum and their first post starts slinging mud unless they have an objective. Everyone else I have ever seen will ease into a forum and introduce themselves. I have viewed this thread to be about a bad situation that seems to happening more often than should within our hunting community. This is not about me and should not be about you unless you were involved in some way. Your efforts to divert the attention away form the issue is childish really. After you have made me go back through the monstermuleys info, it seems Craig called you out in the beginning, on being off base and spewing misinformation. I guess that is your routine. At this point, as I said before, I am happy to wait and see the rest of the story provided by your cohorts. Please have them provide us with the rest of the story instead of your nonsense. Will revealing your opinion somehow betray a friend that is still in the field? Oh you're talking about the the exageration I made in reference to you saying wait till they get back from the hunt... eating crow buisness. Oh ok. No I made that little bit up to needle you a bit. It was an exageration and kind of a joke. You do sound a little "school yard" in your responses but I'll leave it alone. I guess... but I think it is a great topic of discussion. It has become a common occurance from what others have said and I think what really happened matters to us all. I think we as hunters have a say in what happens on public land. Its our land. And if policy needs to be changed as far as game laws go, it will be hunters that eventually push to make that change. Why do you think game and fish puts those surveys out online. They want our input. Well, situations like the one we're discussing have a bearing on what we as a group of hunters think. Are there changes that need to be made? How long before something like this escalates and someone gets shot? Will it be worth discussing then? Your opinion matters just as much as mine and while I do tend to be long winded and opinionated, I would love to hear your opinion on the questions I asked you. But... you will NOT engage in a discussion with me and honestly that tells me more about what is really going on than anything you could possibly type. Thanks dude! The bad part is I live 10 minutes away from all kinds of elk hunting and get to watch a bunch of grown men that act like highschool maybee middle school cheerleaders come up and hunt elk thats what truly makes me sick wipe your snot noses and dry your eyes and go kill a bull do something other than cry this is pathetic.
