WadeNAZ Report post Posted September 12, 2011 James, I have been bowhuting deer for about 3-4 years now and have yet to let an arrow fly. I have passed up smaller bucks and have put on 2 stalks on bucks I would love to have gotten a shot at. On my first stalk I got to 35 yrds from a great 4x5 Muley and as I raised my bow for the shot got busted by a doe I never saw 10yds to my left. Trust me if you can find a buck and put on a stalk you will be hooked wether or not you get a shot! In fact it is one of the most exhilerating experiences IMO one can have. I have been tempted to get a blind or try sitting a treestand but after spot and stalk I just cant seem to go in that direction. Stick with it and find those bucks! 1trakryder Report post Posted September 12, 2011 I have struggled mightily in Arizona with the bow. In Michigan I killed 7 bucks and 15 does, a black bear and went on a ranch hunt and killed a ram in California. Here I haven't shot anything in 7 years although 3 years ago I quit and sold all my stuff to my hunting partner. I am archery addicted so after one year off I bought another bow just before january last year and this year I am ramped up to go. It costs too much in dollars to start over and too much in lost experience to quit. Trust me. But I'll keep going and I hope you will too because there is nothing in the world like killing free range game with a bow.
