bchoitz Report post Posted January 31, 2006 I like the idea of a Trick tank fix-up day. I just don't know where too many of them are, particularly down south. Sounds like a great idea. Anyone know of tanks that need fixed? Bret

CouesWhitetail Report post Posted February 12, 2006 I like the idea of getting a bunch of CW.com'ers to help AGFD maintain some water developments. I know here in 24A the warden asks that if anyone finds one that isn't working to turn in the info and GPS coordinates to her. I imagine all the wardens would like that info. So at a minimum, it's a good idea to do that. We could ask some game wardens if they have some waters in WT country that need fixing and then we could make a work project out of fixing them. az4life Report post Posted February 13, 2006 Amanda Maybe a few of us could team up in several units and go on a drive to look at a bunch of tanks all on the same day. With a little pre-trip training and pre-buying a few supplies, we might be able to cover and fix a lot of tanks in one day. Any chance we could get better info on location of some possible tanks in a not of units? I would sort of like to take a different direction and look over and repair tanks in some areas I am not that familiar with. See some new country and "pay it forward" by fixing a tank or 2 that I won't benefit from. Gonna have to be soon though as summer is coming on fast!
CouesWhitetail Report post Posted February 13, 2006 Let me ask some game wardens and find out what kind of help we can offer and what kind of info we can get from them to move on this stuff. If you guys want to ask AGFD people too or maybe some USFS people, then maybe we can get moving faster. I don't really have any idea how many of the non-working water developments would be easy to fix. Hopefully there are several. Amanda
coues krazy Report post Posted February 13, 2006 The one I was refering to is in unit 22, off of control road near bonita creek. It is a guzzler. Some awesome looking coues country around it,and its tucked up against the base of the rim. Might be worth looking into anyways.
rthrbhntng Report post Posted February 13, 2006 Amanda, Give Mike Demlong at G&F a call 942-3000. He is the head of the water development division. If that doesn't work call the WM in a unit that you want and they can help. I also have a list of most of the tanks and what they need to fix. email if I can help. I would be happy to give the list to you. the AES is working on fixing a lot of tanks in elk country so that leaves a lot that need to be fixed in deer country. coues krazy Report post Posted February 28, 2006 Looks like another storm fades before getting here. Family has a cabin in meads ranch east of Payson. Guess we better get up there and enjoy it now, because with the fire season we are going to have, it might not be up there after this summer.
