cardawg Report post Posted August 27, 2011 Just got back from my first scouting trip,and thanks to some helpful advise from a few members,I saw quite a few deer.I'm new at this ,so I cant tell you how they rated as far as score goes,but they were breathing and they had horns and thats good enough for me.I didnt know how sneakey they were until this trip,I was up on a ridge with the spotting scope,looking down into a small caynon where my buddy was walking ,about 600yds away,and I swear I seen one crawling on its belly behind him after he walked by,he never even knew it was there,anyways thanks for the help everybody,I sure feel better about this season now,at least I know that they are there. 200"mulie Report post Posted August 30, 2011 ya last year we were hunting in some thick stuff...we got in front of 1 buck and 8 doe's they got into a canyon....but nothing was coming out. Sent my buddy in there and not a single deer came out. sneaky ghost's. Anyway meet up together working this small bowl that feeds into a canyon.. found a big boulder to sit in the shade. Buddy says i dont get i just dont get it......I say well maybe they are just walkin out like last year they hold tight and walk out. As soon as i said that he said buck at 70 yards. Turns out to be a bachelor heard of 3 and we both missed. i had a better excuse though the day before i slipped and fell dropping my rifle on a rock cavig in part of my scope. cardawg Report post Posted September 5, 2011 Going back next weekend for a second trip,Hope I have the same sucess as far as seeing deer.Through a mistake on my part when filling out the hunt application,I got this hunt tag,I have never hunted unit 8 before,but I plan to try and make the most of it.I have been doing alot of homework for this hunt,and rumor has it that there are Monsters living in those hills Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

Report post Posted September 6, 2011 Couple days ago i went out w/little brother fr ride here on wmat on the back roads we went walking along a ridge I see my bro across a canyon about 80yds frm where I was,I was glassing &below him about 10yards away was 3nice bucks I'm guessing two would b around 95"&100" but the 3rd was a monster he had2b over 120" I called him over walkie talkie telling him2 look down 10yards the bucks whr lookn up at him &fr about 15mins he try2look4 thm but he never saw thm,then just gaveup &went on walking, that's why ther called the ghost, they can b yards away frm u watching u & u walk by them never know they whr there, yes very sneaky Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
