First Bugle of the season!!

I heard my first bugle of 2011 this morning. I also glassed up over 150 cow elk in the same drainage. I felt like I was in Alaska watching Caribou, not elk in AZ. Here is a picture from the video.

Cool Video, ya that's alot of cows, thanks for sharing, can't believe the bugle. So do you think the rut is going to come early. Just wondering we have a muzzle bull elk in 9.

I was sitting in my blind in unit 8 last weekend and heard a few bugles. Seemed a little early to me.

Watched a 7x7 yesterday checking his cow, thrashing a tree and bugle three times it was pretty cool. Looked alot like this group. Nice video

all that rain up there must have got them going. that's nice to see...since last couple times ive been up there during fall turkey...all the archery guys were complaining that the rut was very slow. so looks like the archery season will be good.

That was awesome . Thanks for sharing and your right better be getting in shape, and yes round is a shape ,but that will only get you down the hill not back up.

I heard my first two bugles yesterday evening! All the bulls I saw were scraped with white antlers! Hoping for a good rut year..

I have a friend that went up this last Friday night on a scout campout and he said at about 2 in the morning they started up bugling and went for a couple hours until the coyotes started howling. They kept everyone in camp awake. They were up north of Payson somewhere.

What is happening on September 24th? The early rifle hunt starts on the 23rd and the archery hunt is over by then.

Shane, I found a herd of about 50 which I thought was a bit more than usual for the area. I wonder if that bunch joined up with another big bunch & created the Alaskan caribou migration you speak of.
