.270 Report post Posted August 23, 2011 on a sweeter note. my ol' docter 15x60's got knocked out of alignment. heard a lot of horror stories about getting them worked on. found a place called mountain optic in lakeside montana. just got them back today. did a really good job. lined up perfect, super clear. look like new. anyway, if you need glass worked on and can't get it done for whatever reason, look this outfit up. he's a certified repair guy for about any of the high end glass outfits. he wasn't cheap. $280 for all he did, which he said was quite substantial, new eye cups and shipping back to me. they are really clean, clear and sharp now. i got them used and he said they had been worked on before by someone that didn't know a lot about it and that was what most of the work was. but he got em done really quick, about a 2 week turnaround, and did a fine job. Lark. ps, he told me that the docter 15x60's are the same thing as the old zeiss 15x60's. same lenses, case, mechanics, everything. only real difference is the docters are rubber armored. i didn't know that. if i see any of these at a good price, i'll pick em up. later.
