LifeFeedsOnLife Report post Posted August 21, 2011 Hey guys I drew a late bull tag for 3a/3c this year. I haven't hunted elk yet and was just looking for any tips on finding them late in the season. .270 Report post Posted August 25, 2011 scouting any time is a good thing to do. things will change after the rut, but if nothing else you will learn about the country, where the roads run, how the canyons lay, stuff like that. any time spent in the field is beneficial. and one thing that scouting during the rut will do is it will get you excited about your hunt and it will give you a real good idea of what your unti has to offer. by all means, scout early, scout often. Alpinebullwinkle Report post Posted August 25, 2011 One thing you can ususally count on is you will not find the bulls in the same location in November as where you might find them during the rut. Once the rut is over look for deep canyons within a few miles or so that hold water and food source with excellent cover. They get very reclusive when done with the women.
