Just checking to see if anyone is applying in WY this year. This will be the first year WY starts preference points for elk, deer and antelope. If anyone is thinking about a WY hunt in their future they should get in on the points now. Elk apps need to be in at the end of Jan. You can apply for points only, it ain't cheap- $50.00, but maybe worth it if you like to hunt elk. Deer, $40.00 and antelope, $30.00 need to be in by March 15. Apps can be downloaded from the WY game and fish web site.

I don't have time or money to apply this year but I'm trying to scrape enough for bonus points

Curious.... seems that antelope are everywhere in wyoming, (like Rats in NY city) and I do not see a reason for bonus points on them.

There are Deer, Elk, and Moose in the state and Moose seems about the only one that points would be needed.

 

I for one am seriously considering these with the new AZ regs and fees.

There are more antelope than people in WY yet if you want to draw a quality unit get in on the ground floor on the new point system.

Moose points went from $7.00 to $75.00(ouch) this year. With the max. points at 11 this year you would have to want a moose real bad to start points now as it would probably take about 10yrs.

As with any other state with points, if you want to draw the best hunts points are going be a huge help.

Antelope apps are due in their office by March 15. Personal check, money orders and cashier checks are accepted.
