Wesley My two cents worth...one of the best tips I ever received was to look for horizontal lines. I now pick up more game than I ever did before. Wesley Not all units are divided like most in the state are that have mulie and whitetail. 27 has mulies up high and low and the whitetail are starting to do the same so its a mixed bag there. pronghorn Report post Posted November 27, 2011 New member, long time lurker, have the early hunt 12AE on the Kaibab. Took the glassing class with Duwane. However, not clear on what my mix should be on glassing vs. moving. Seems Duwane is a glass and move kind of guy, but he has probably dozens of good spots to check out. I have scouted the unit, but you could spend months scouting the unit. I take it I should stick to the burn areas, but are there any other good glassing spots outside the burn? Anyway, if I have a good spot, should I stick with it for an hour? Two hours? All day and hope something moves in or gets bumped in by other hunters? In my past hunts, I seem to get wandering legs and cover lots of ground but not really see much. Curious what people on guided hunts do? Are they glassing from the truck? Walking a little or a lot to new spots and glassing from there? Anyway, thanks for the help. Walk less and glass more. If you think it's a good spot, put in your time. It could very well take several hours. I have found, here in Colorado, the bucks get back up at roughly 1:00 to stretch their legs and get a bite to eat. [/quote/] On my hunt which ended 3 weeks ago, we decided to glass all day. We glassed a buck right at 12:30. I ended up shooting him; he was a 3x3 and scored 158".
