Bowhntrsx7 Report post Posted August 23, 2011 I think if they moved the season back at all it would just shorten the season for all of us. It always goes up to the archery elk hunts and there not going to have those hunts going concurrently. Besides this might be selffish but I can hardly wait for it to start now, if I had to wait another week or two it might kill me. Looking at the bucks from this weekend it kind of seems like where folks are hunting on how done they are growing. Congrats to all those who could connect this weekend. I'm in Texas working on the fires and have a little under a week to go. Can't wait to get home and get some hunting in!!!
COUESAZ Report post Posted August 23, 2011 I thought all bucks had Bulbs. But I have not had much luck getting a good enough photo of a bucks bulbs. But yes I do not hunt this time of year for the main reason I want to shoot a buck that has reached its full potential. Also I do not hold an issue with guys that do hunt and kill now. It might be just what they want. And that's one less hunter in the field to contend with when the other hunts roll around. That's why they have hunts set up like they do I guess. COUESAZ Report post Posted August 23, 2011 And then there is gino.man that's who I want to guide my hunt. That guy said he saw a buck that had blue bulbs. Man if he can tell that then he is the guide of all guides right. Haha keep up the good work C&S. Haha.

standman Report post Posted August 23, 2011 I know it's not all about the antlers or the trophy for many of us, but what in the heck are you gonna do with one of those velvet bucks with all the blood balled up in the tips. My guess they are going to brag and lie and be happy as heck with their deer. They probably could care less if they were balled up. And congrats to all of them too. daryl_s Report post Posted August 24, 2011 I'm going to stay in this weekend, but not because of antler growth. Unless you are in the pines, it's just too d@mn hot to be out hiking around in the desert this week. Labor day weekend probably won't be too much cooler, but it will be my last chance before the Fall archery season closes. I have never shot a deer with a bow, not for lack of trying, and would be happy to shoot any buck. Congrats to those who have filled their tags and good luck to those who are still working on it.
