muskrat Report post Posted August 14, 2011 You won’t want to miss this one! Craig McMullen from Arizona Game & Fish will be on hand to talk about the North American Conservation Model – the fundamental method used to manage wildlife in Arizona. The North American Model of Wildlife Conservation is the world’s most successful. No other continent retains as close to a complete compliment of native wildlife species. While other countries struggle to conserve the little they have left, we enjoy great abundance and diversity of native wildlife. This would be a great topic for non-hunters to listen to as well as it explains the importance of hunting, trapping and fishing in managing wildlife. Dave Kelner from the National Wild Turkey Federation will be on hand as well, to talk about the great work being done by the NWTF. You will be astounded at all they have going on. Turkeys are a great species to hunt for beginners and veterans too and we have more than one species here in Arizona. Finally, you’ll get to meet Cade Smith from The Gun Claw. This great device mounts on your tripod to hold your rifle steady – great for youngsters and those long shots. We have another full agenda so the meeting will start promptly at 7:00 Gateway Fellowship Church 60 N Recker Rd Gilbert, AZ Gateway is a Christian-based but not Christian-exclusive organization for individuals, kids and families interested in hunting, fishing and other outdoor activities. Light refreshments and child care are available. Short Meet N Greet after the meeting.
