I heard the same rumor and a buddy had pic's of the buck. I went to see the pic's tonight and it's the same buck that is on the bowhunting discussion forum here on this site. http://www.coueswhitetail.com/forums/index...?showtopic=2508 It was killed near payson but I think was around 128" not 140" class?! I also heard there was a buck supposedly going to score 140" but after being killed on the late rifle hunt up near payson, it scored 120's" and was non-typical though. Rumors are crazy things! Who knows?! JIM

This is the same deer that I recieved different pictures of and in the email it said it might be close to the new archery world record. This is just what I recieved in email and email's are like women you meet down at the bar in AJ, they both lie alot and have no teeth. There is post from awhile back on the Archery forum about the deer (that's where I pulled this picture from).

My taxidermist has a client who shot a 135" coues in Sonora and if that wasn't enough he shot a 218" mulie on the same hunt! If and when I can pics I'll see if I can post them with the hunters permission.

Rumors do get out of control as they are passed around. I think that was one of the problems that came about with Maces' buck.

That pic looks like the buck that I heard about double eye guards and all. Have a friend who guides and lives in payson that said the guy set up a blind and shot it off of a trail or spring????? Whoever the hunter is and however he killed it isn't important fact of the matter is that it is a buck of a lifetime. My hats off to him.Congrats!!!!!!!

My dad works with a guy who's brother guides in unit 22. He said that one of the clients shot a non typical that scored in the 120's but that this same buck used to be in the 140 range when it was younger. They say it was a very old buck and wasn't as big as before. But on the other hand I have not heard much detail of the hunt and have not seen any pictures so all I can do is pass on the rumors that I have heard.

I've seen a couple pictures of the rifle kill from 22, I'll ask if I can post them. It's a pretty cool buck with a killer double beam kinda thing coming off the left antler.
