Red Rabbit Report post Posted July 20, 2011 I would hunt the edge of the canyons on the east, south and southwest sides of the unit. Lots of country to scout. 'Tis hard to see the coues in the brush on the canyon sides.

anthonyrmatthews Report post Posted July 20, 2011 I got the same tag with my brothers! The best advice I can give is to get in shape! Even if you think you're already in shape now. That country can get nasty quickly. Be patient, and glass all day. Hope that helps ya. Most of all have fun, and enjoy the beautiful country in there. It's a lot different than hunting down south (to me atleast).....

Send a pic! It was not my first choice, more like the 5th,but my daughter drew a Elk Tag in the same area, thought I would try and kill two birds with one stone,Thanks for the info
Red Rabbit Report post Posted July 21, 2011 If you daughter drew the Nov rifle bull tag, hunting the rim for coues in late October may reveal some bulls in their hangouts for a month later

257 STW Report post Posted July 23, 2011 I was in 8 helpin out on a Nov Bull Elk hunt a few years back that was one of the tuffist hunts ever had been on, seen a few coues buks but you need to be able to shoot a long ways , have a good spotting scope along with your 15s and have your walkin shoes on. Few areas to check, Sycamore Canyon is good, the country just above Paulden forest service road i belive 680 to the right if going north take that to the T and go left again there is a mine or a rock and stone yard back there to the north of that yard i seen a few good buks, also check the country by the river. Good luck
