TexAz Report post Posted July 20, 2011 After all the good advice on 243 bullets I ended up purchasing a 7MM.08. That is the caliber I wanted but I couldnt find anything but .243 in the youth model. Found one this morning and jumped on it.

outdooraz Report post Posted October 19, 2011 Remington 100 grain core lokts shoot well and are economically priced.
apache12 Report post Posted October 20, 2011 Hornaday Ammo. Look into the Savage rifle with the accutrigger, my young boys have shot on that trigger and it is really nice teaching them to squeeze slow and not jerk the trigger. straight shooter for sure too
KaibabHunter Report post Posted October 20, 2011 I got my12 yo boy the 7mm-08 savage youth shooting 139 gr hornandy SST's and he did really well with it. The combo did a number on his cow elk and recoil is light enough to not make him afraid of the shot. Shoots pretty tight groups after it's zeroed too.
