Lots of bulls on camera

Recommended Posts

I have 3 cameras out about 3 or 4 miles apart. I've got lots of bulls on camera, Some big, some small. Im worried because i will be hunting in the rut, but I have no cows on camera, will the big bulls leave to find cows , or is it possible cows my come looking for them, or come back into the area once their calfs are bigger? The date is right , Time is wrong

Sweet looking bull Mason, Good luck on the tag. The bulls will stop hitting your salt etc.. when they start looking for cows, hopefully there are cows at least somewhere close.

With the monsoon showers, you may wish to look for the greenup areas that will attract the cows and calves, and hence the bulls as the rut begins. Those bulls may move 0-25 miles for their harem. If you knew where that bull was last fall during the rut, I'd go there first.

I have some bulls that I watch during the summer. They usually move to where the cows are located right around the first week of September. I have cameras set out to get pics of cows and bulls in two seperate areas. That way I can watch the bulls grow and see when the bull shows up to hang out with them. David
