.270 Report post Posted July 18, 2011 good for you. them little babies need all the help they can get. especially this year. was it a bull or a heifer? i've cut two of them out of fences over the years. had one of em's mama get after me pretty good once while i was trying to untangle her baby, but i got it out and they trotted off. when she got to the trees she stopped and looked back, sorta like she was saying thanks. markgann Report post Posted July 18, 2011 I didn't check.the first one we roped wouldn't let us get close to it so we got a canoe and the other guy I work with got me close enough to rope it.the one in the picture I was on my own.it was raining and every time I threw at it I slipped in to the water.the pond has a plastic liner.by.the elk was so tired it was coming up to me,saying to me come on guy help me.the hear was still hanging around y,they were on the other side of the fence.we took the baby and sat her outside of the fence.I checked on it an hour later ,it saw me and got up an ran back to mama
