Guest jeff in NM Report post Posted March 24, 2003 I was out yesterday with my best hunting buddy (my dawg Sage), I was primarily out just to get him some exercise. We came across two coues sheds, one mulie shed, and one elk shed (all previous year's antlers). We then jumped a bunch of javelina. I have a valid javelina tag, but chose not to carry my bow this afternoon as I was just heading over the mountains after visiting my folks in Silver City. Anyway, maybe all us shed hunters can start posting the day we find our first fresh sheds, and a general location. It would be interesting to see the length of time it takes for all the bucks to shed thier antlers. Our elk here in the Gila seem to be hanging on to their antlers a little longer than the past couple years. I wonder if the drought is having some sort of affect?
