Mechanic WANTED!

Thought I may post this. At least one position available, possibly 2 positions for Lead Mechanic and Mechanic for the school district I work for. If anyone knows of a Certified Diesel Mechanic in need of a job, send them this info!

POSITION TITLE: Lead Mechanic

QUALIFICATIONS: Must be diesel certified.

 

Must have a valid Arizona Commercial Driver's License (CDL) and have a clean MVD printout.

 

JOB DESCRIPTION: This position will require an individual to manage, coordinate and provide mechanical service and repair to the fleet of district vehicles, trucks and buses. The individual must be able to schedule all service and tasks in compliance with federal, state and district requirements.

RESPONSIBILITIES: Troubleshoot defective equipment and repair/replace as needed.

• Implement a complete preventative maintenance/obsolescence program with accurate record keeping for all units.

• Maintain records of repairs, costs and recommendations.

• Troubleshoots conventional and electronically controlled engines, diesel powerplants and powertrains.

• Able to generate and write specifications for buses, trucks and automobiles in accordance with district and state bid requirements.

• Comply with EPA, OSHA and ADOT inspections and requirements.

• Coordinate with state officials annual emission and licensing inspections.

• Assist as a district liaison with insurance and local authorities when accidents occur.

• Schedule parts, service and purchases with outside vendors.

• Operate and perform tasks using modern mechanical testing and maintenance equipment.

• Attend workshops and seminars for self improvement in the trade.

• Skill in written and verbal communications with outside vendors, bureaus, sales and district personnel.

• Maintain and organize the district bus yard and garage area.

• Coordinates work duties and assists in evaluations of Mechanic(s) and Auto Service Worker(s).

• Performs other related tasks as assigned.

EXPERIENCE: High School diploma or GED.

• Minimum of five (5) years experience at journeyman level in the service and repair of automobiles, trucks and buses.

• ASE certification in automobile and heavy duty truck categories with a minimum of the following:

Four certificates in "A"; or capable of obtaining such certification within a one-year period.

Three certificates in "T"; or capable of obtaining such certification within a one-year period.

OTHER INFORMATION: KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITIES: • Skill in written and verbal communication. • Skill in management of schedules, records, bureau compliance, and shop operation. • Skill in troubleshooting, repair and replacement. • Working knowledge of conventional and electronically controlled gas engines, diesel powerplants, light and heavy duty powertrains and chassis, accessory and air conditioning equipment. • Skill in diagnosing unit electrical systems and powerplant electronic controls. • Ability to utilize all tools and equipment found in a modern auto/truck repair facility including electrical and emissions troubleshooting analyzers.
