Why do you call mulies a carp

Alright i'm new to this site, but please tell me why you call one of the most beatiful deer a carp? I fish & hate carp!!!!! Muy grande mulie!!!

I call them carp because they are alot bigger than whitetail and carp are big fish I mean they get up over 40 pounds and also not to offend anybody but also they are not as smart as the coues. I mean it is still a very majestic animal but in my own opinion nowhere near that of a coues.

Because Carp are alot easier to catch tham Bass. How many P&Y Coues deer have you taken with a bow and how many P&Y Carp? For ,e it stands at 2 each but I have taken 4 Carp total and 2 Coues. No comparison on the level of difficulty. Ihave never seen a buggered Coues deer stop and look back and take an arrow like a Carp. Have you? That being said I am off to hunt Carp right now so have a great day!

They guys I work with call our coues deer a "Jackalope"!

 

As for the hunting, I think with a bow, the Coues is harder to hunt, but the eastern whitetails are much easier due to their predictable patterns of behavior and movement.

 

As for the bottomland dweller, my first taste of mule deer came at 10,500 feet in central Colorado. Hardly bottom dweller country.

 

If it has antlers it's going to be fun to hunt it, and that is good enough for me.

 

Now, why do you call a massive buck a "toad"?

Bret M: here are a couple of carp I drew from memory. I see mule deer in my yard in Greer, and off the roads up to 9,500 feet. Do they still qualify as "bottom feeders?"

Deerslam: thanks. Deer certainly are awesome. and by deer I mean every kind of antlered game. I've shot deer on five continents and love them all. (Coues deer are No. 1, however.) The dumbest caribou is twice as smart as the smartest wild sheep, in my humble opinion.

I was kind of the same way. Why do they call them carp? I don't think that a giant mulie is easy to harvest in any setting. I have taken some pretty nice mule deer and some pretty nice coues deer, but never a true monster. Whoever says a giant mulie is easy to take is a little far fetched in my opinion. I'd like to see them take one year in and year out. I have respect for all monster bucks, and in my opinion, a monster mule deer is a pretty intelligent animal. They know how to get away and where to hide. That's why you don't see them until January every year.

No way do mulies deserve to be called carp! The idea that coues are smarter may and may not be true, for example, I was hunting today(Coues) in NM and I jumped a 6 point buck on my way to a bigger one, he ran about 50 yards. I blew on my grunt tube and he came back in at 15 yards! Here's my theory-many others might think this- Coues Deer can disappear because of their small bodies and light gray camo. Mule Deer can't. I've had many a big mule deer get away from me, and probably about the same coues deer, so here what I have to say- deer are deer I love to hunt them, no matter if I draw the coues or mule deer tag, so if I kill a big mule deer I won't think Awe MAN!, only a mule deer!
