And ya it does suck to see three lions in your hunting grounds wish I could get them out of there without having to use dogs and pay someone. tjhunt2 Report post Posted July 25, 2011 Is it wise to put your name and contact number somewhere on the blind? just curious if anyone does that. I use to put my name and phone number on my tree stands and blinds but no more. I don't trust the forest service. I've heard cases where they called with your stuff and then gave out tickets when you would pick them up. I'm not taking any chances with them. couesdeerhntr.....I wouldn't worry to much on the guy showing up. If you are there first then it's your spot but if he is there then back out and talk with him later if you really insist on hunting there. I actually had a hunter in my tree stand on opening morning before daylight, with my sign saying I would be sitting there that day. He was there first but in my stand. He insisted on climbing down but I let him sit there and went to a backup spot and killed a bull. On another occasion a hunter was sitting beneath my tree stand in a home made blind and I backed off after waving to him because he beat me in there. Later that same day I got in there before him and climbed up in my tree stand. He showed up that evening and I waved him off but he continued to walk in and sit under me at the foot of the tree I was in. I asked if he was going to sit there and he said why not. I explained how I had backed off and now he should do the same. He opened his pack and settled in. I told him to think about what he was doing and make up his mind before I climbed down to make it for him. He lift!
200"mulie Report post Posted July 25, 2011 i know a buddy had an antelope tag 10+ years back and they were setting up half dozen blinds up for antelope. Long story is you had to put your name and when your using it, cause anyone else can hunt that spot even in your blind....i would agree with the others probably forgot it. couesdeerhntr Report post Posted July 26, 2011 Thanks for the info guys and I actually just got back and again the blind was in same condition so I am pretty sure as well that the blind was just left there because no has been there for over a month now so I think it is a safe bet to think they forgot it. I have one more question. Were the person has set the blind up is right were I had cleared an area and is the only spot were u can set up a ground blind to cover all the area. I don't want to sit in his blind cuz its a piece of crap and it is very small and has holes in it now from the weather. I want to set my double bull blind up. What should I do? I don't want to cause any problems by taking his down and setting mine up. And I def do not want him to mess with my blind. Cost to much money.
couesdeerhntr Report post Posted July 26, 2011 Was thinking of just maybe taking it down and keep it right next to my blind or on top of blind so they can see I took it down nice and didn't mess with it if by some chance they come back for it? What u guys think
