August Salt or Corn?

Recommended Posts

Just curious to see some of your guy's opinion about whether or not to use Salt, Corn, or both at the same time while hunting Coues in a non spot and stalk area with bow. It would be great to here ur success stories or failures in reguards to this tatic.

I usually put butter on my corn before the salt. Iowa corn is the best but Olathe, CO corn is good. Eating goood corn quietly will not scare deer away. After you eat, save the cob for emcy TP.

Tip of the week: Keep a sling shot in the blind for the little critters that like corn also.

1st water.

but if there are cows around they seem to hit the corn first. but a mineral lick(not a salt block)(fake or natural) seems to attract more deer than cows. essentially near a water source.

From what I've seen, water and salt are key in August. In December, corn and alfalfa.

Depends on your area, i've experienced some deer not touching corn and taking the salt and in another area taking the corn and not the salt. It all depends start now and find out what works best for you in your area and fling some arrows in August. Good luck.
