CEI Report post Posted June 26, 2011 I was able to attend the last Regional meeting in Kingman this past week. There was 30 sportsmen that filled the room & voiced a lot of opinions. We heard Prescott had 26 people & another meeting had 17. Did anyone on here attend any of the meetings? Most of the talk was about the general deer guidelines & the predator management policies. I personally was very pleased that they are finally recognizing the issues with access in all of Arizona, but especially in Region 3. Hopefully, something will come out of these group meetings & we can help improve these situations. Also, almost everyone in attendance agreed not the answer the question regarding would we rather shoot a trophy animal or hunt more often. 30 sportsmen told them this was a bogus question & they were TRYING to get the answer they wanted. We kinda felt sorry for Brian at this point, because he was the dart board & we chucked a bunch of darts!

cmc Report post Posted June 27, 2011 I was at the Tucson meeting. It went well and glad we were able to discuss a few things with the department. I would say that most of the big game hunters that attended the Tucson meeting would agree with the 'trophy' shooting question Craig but I get the fact they are just asking the same question that was asked in previous survey and want to compare results. If they changed up the question then it would not be a good comparison. In my mind they should have had another section of new questions to compare to come next time. I hope we see some support for the southern AZ WT hunt changes that were proposed this year. cmc
