Sightron SII Compact rifle scopes

Does anyone have any experience with a Sightron Scope? They have excellent reviews for short action guns. I am going to scope a Remington Model 7 in 243, and am looking for a compact scope. The rifle was only $500, and is a brush buster, so I am looking for a scope in the $200-300 range. Must be lightweight, and I am pretty set on fixed power. any suggetions would be welcome. Thanks

I've got a Sightron on my S&W .22 pistol. It has been great! I have had it for about 6 years and it has taken all of the abuse that a .22 pistol normally takes and the scope has held up great. I originally got it for shooting gophers in MT and it was perfect. I know the rifle you are putting is NOT a .22 but in my opinion my Sightron has been a great purchase and I would not hesitate to get another one!

For $319 I would pick up a Zeiss 3-9x40 from Cameralandny.com

 

You WILL NOT find a better scope for that price. When I worked at Sportsmans Warehouse, that was the most common scope I sold.
