looking for gunsmith to install muzzlebreak

Recommended Posts

I had one done by Van Horn some time back. They did a pretty good job on it. They make their own and it works pretty well.

Accuracy Speaks out at Rio Salado Sportsman's Club could probably handle that too. I have not had them do work, but have heard good things about them. Wouldn't hurt to get a quote from them.

I have a friend in Mesa that can do it for you. He charges 140-170 depending on what you want and can usually get the gun back to you 1-2 weeks, sometimes 2-3 days.

Hey Wade-

How did that brake turn out? I heard he gave you the good guy discount!

Thanks a lot for the contact. Todd did a great job. I'd recommend him to anybody. 6 hr turnaround. Can't get any better than that! I'm an archery guy, but spending time talking to him makes me want to learn more about rifles (sorry, but won't ever happen :P ). He's a wealth of knowledge. Again, thanks for his contact info:

So now after buying the 300win mag rifle, case, snipe pod & sling for $100 I had Todd install the brake for $130 - now looking for a good scope for around $400. Todd recommended the vortex viper 6.5 x 20. That scope looks really nice so I'll start searching for a used one. If anybody is looking to get rid of theirs send me what you have. Open to others as well in the roughly 6-20 power ranges.

I wouldnt recommend that scope for a 300win mag... the eye relief is shorter then most, which could result in a nice cut or black eye... or so I have been told.

I had the same brake put on my rifle.

btw...

For Sale:

Vortex 6.5-20x50

used 1 trip on 300 Rem Ultra Mag

leaves nice marks
