Just enough to keep my battery charged and maybe a little more. I have heard these are good or ok. Any input? Generac 800w (is this even big enough) Honda EU1000 or ? Thanks, Eric I have a Honda EU2000 Eric. It is really quiet and does what I need as far as bumping up the batteries, playing a movie on the TV for my daughter and running appliances, but not big enough for the AC. At some point I plan on picking up another to piggyback them together to have the AC capability. Highly recommend the Honda stuff! They're a bit more $$ but worth it for their reliability, IMO. Redman Report post Posted June 16, 2011 Hands down Honda EU (I don't own one), I have a Kipor (similar) and its noise is manageable with a extension cord it becomes very quite. Honywell and others make a knock off of the Honda, look at the specs of each (what the db rating). Yamaha is supposed to make a good one. .270 Report post Posted June 16, 2011 go with the honda. i bought dozens of em when i still had a job. they are an invertor tho, not a generator. generators always run at 3600 rpm to make 60 cycles. no matter how much load is on it. an inverter just has to run however fast it needs to, to make up the load. that is the main reason they are quieter. they are really well insulated too. you can also get them with electric start and you can get a remote start/stop fob too. real handy when you're nice and warm in bed and don't want to get up to start or stop the generator. the inverters weigh a lot less than a generator of comparable power too. the inverter just has a thick flywheel looking deal instead of a big generator. and the hondas are bulletproof. matthewp45 Report post Posted June 17, 2011 I have the EU3000 and I love it. You put it on the back side of trailer and you can hardly hear it. My dad has the EU6500 and it is a beast. It comes with handles on one side and wheels on the other. Even though it is huge it is still really quiet. You can take three camping ridgs out and just plug them all into that EU6500 and it will run everything in all of them.All of the EU's are very quiet. Compared to regular generators, well there is no comparison. They are really quiet and they have a idle mode (like Lark Said) that only revs up the motor when your trailer needs more power when you are not using it, it will idle and not use hardly any gas. I once left it on all day while hunting on accident. When I got back to camp I just left it on and it ran a full 26 hours before it ran out of fuel. Highly recommended! There is a member that had one for sell on here a while back that I dont think he sold it. I will pm him for you. Maybe repost another add stating that your ready to buy one? WinMag Report post Posted June 17, 2011 As has already been said go with the Honda EU. I have 2 EU 2000's and run them parral to run a 15,000 BTU A/C with no problems.
