Elkhunter1 Report post Posted June 13, 2011 After work I drove straight to my cameras to retrieve them before the Forest Service closed all access to them. I hiked in about a 1/4 mile to one of my cameras only to find I had forgotten one very important tool and had to return to my truck to get it (IN THE DARK). After getting this cam I had to get to the other side of the mountain to then clime a tree to get the last camera. This is only some of the shots from my three cams. I returned home with an empty stomach to a microwave with the same results, empty. I retired after eating four cookies and milk at midnight.

Elkhunter1 Report post Posted June 13, 2011 I truly believe it will benefit us all in the end. Only if they open it up right after the first rain. (for us hunters) Thanks for the pictures. Sorry to hear thay are going to close the forest but I guess it is the right thing to do. TJ
DesertBull Report post Posted June 13, 2011 Why did you remove them? I would have just put in fresh batteries and cards and left them. The chance of them being stolen would go down with the forest closed.
Elkhunter1 Report post Posted June 14, 2011 I run 12 volt (back-up) house alarm batteries and I don't have a second set yet for them. One of the batteries was dead when I got there. I like to move them about every 3 weeks and I have other locations to set them in. YES it was a hard decision to get them or not!!!! Why did you remove them? I would have just put in fresh batteries and cards and left them. The chance of them being stolen would go down with the forest closed.
CouesWhitetail Report post Posted July 4, 2011 Quite the adventure and nice pics! I can see how it would be a hard decision to move them and not just leave them there.
Elkhunter1 Report post Posted July 4, 2011 I have gone out twice since that nite. Looking at last years locations outside of the Coronado. One location was inundated with young cows and only a few deer tracks, one was almost dry with a dead cow in what little water was left, one the rancher turned off completely, two completely dry and one where I placed the only camera out there, sad very sad!!! WE NEED RAIN!!!! Quite the adventure and nice pics! I can see how it would be a hard decision to move them and not just leave them there.
