billrquimby Report post Posted June 8, 2011 I drew Odocoileus Virginianus Texanus, (How's that Mr. Quimby? ) Unit 59 December. Yup, I'm happy. --Bill Congratulations, Bill. I hope you find and collect the buck of your dreams. Just one thing, though. There are rules for capitalizing the "scientific" names of creatures and plants. The first letter of the genus is always capitalized, but not so with the species and subspecies. Therefore, you should have written Odocoileus virginianus texanus. The entire scientific name is also always capitalized. You're forgiven this time. Bill Quimby
5yearcoueshunter Report post Posted June 8, 2011 Congrats on the tag Bill! I'm really interested to know how your hunt turns out. I want to get a Texas Whitetail in NM someday. I got a Unit 32 muley tag 3rd choice and a Barbary tag. Really hope to get my first sheep. Congrats again! Travis
WFGinNM Report post Posted June 10, 2011 I had thought about that Bill, and changed it at the last minute. Another reason why I don't gamble, given a 50/50 chance I will lose every time. Travis, I'll be posting pics and such throughout my scouting, which is 4 1/2 hours away. Thanks, --Bill
