Coues 'n' Sheep Report post Posted June 7, 2011 If anyone knows a guy in the Springerville area named Wes Harper... please feel free to slug him in the whiskers next time you see him for being a Pin Head... So help me if I ever see him I'll bust his skull for the ignorant things he said on New Channel 3 at 9pm last night.... He called the spokes person out for "not being dirty"... and then was spouting off about how to fight this fire... a fire that jumps a Mile in the wind... "dig a muddy ditch with John Deer Tractors...." IGNORANT..... Someone needs to pound a burnt stump into that Liberal Morons Mouth... Those guys are putting their lives on the line.... only so much can be done... The woods are under managed and they are wicked dry... We all have to live with the reality that someday it could be our turn... if a person can't handle the th...ought of possibly being burt over in a wildfire then they ought to consider Phoenix living as an option. Acting like the wildland teams are not doing enough makes me wanna say "Pull out boys and let her burn..." But I know that was just one guy... and he does deserve to have his lips smash to his teeth... God Bless our Wildland Firefighters on the lines of the Wallow Fire.... and Dam To H e l l all the tree huggers that block proper forest management.... AntlerObsession Report post Posted June 7, 2011 My parents cabin is at the southern end of River Reservoir. They went up from Mesa Saturday to clear everything out. I told them there was no way the fire was going to burn this far. I wish there was something I could do, other than pray. God bless those who are risking their lives to stop this monster. God bless us to have the courage to fight the ignorance that has resulted in this tragedy.
.270 Report post Posted June 7, 2011 there is a real distinct rim that runs from around porter springs on the west end to alpine on the east. fires don't burn downhill as fast as they do uphill or across the flat. maybe with a little luck, wind lays down or the directions change, they can stop it along that rim. if the wind keeps blowing like it has tho, it can shower all kindsa sparks downhill and still take off. dang, this is a spooky deal. real hard to understand how it ever got to this. good luck and God bless to everyone affected. sad, sad deal. standman Report post Posted June 7, 2011 If you want to read something else that is sad, read the comments from people at the end of this MSN article about the fire. Amazing how people can have so much hatred. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/43290922/ns/weather Brian

Red Rabbit Report post Posted June 7, 2011 The Google Earth fire data map is showign a few fire spots on the edge of the rim above the east fork of the LCR, even with the south end of the east fork road from Greer. And other spots right at Mexican Hay Lake. The Greer webcam looks ominous. http://weather.weatherbug.com/AZ/Greer-weather/weather-cams/local-cams.html?zcode=z6286&camera_id=GRRMB&camera_animate=

billrquimby Report post Posted June 8, 2011 For Lark and TJ and everyone else who asked, my wife and I are in Tucson. We were packing things late Friday night when at 1:30 a.m. a Greer fire department officer knocked on our doors and gave us a "pre-evacuation" alert notice. By 2:00 a.m., we were heading to Tucson, expecting to return on Sunday or Monday to get more stuff. Unfortunately, we got hung up here and before we could leave everyone in the village had been ordered to evacuate immediately. As of a few minutes ago, the fire was reported to be burning only about a mile above Greer. Crews were cutting trees around cabins and hoping to create a firebreak to save our cabins. We can only only pray that they succeed. I spent 41 years building the place, mostly with my own hands, and it still is filled with things that Jean and I cherish. We thank all of you for your concern and well wishes. Bill Quimby
Pine Donkey Report post Posted June 8, 2011 It is good to hear you are out. The fire crews have done an amazing job protecting the houses so far. We pray the winds change and drive this thing away from Greer and RV.
