Double Buck Taxidermy

coyote success

Recommended Posts

My cousin vince and i headed out this morning to do a little coyote calling and we set 3 stands total. After walking a mile and 1/2 and calling our butts off vince spots a coyote in the field to our left and way ahead of us, at this time we are walking along a canal and so we decide to drop off the other side and run a 1/4 mile along the side of the canal so we dont get noticed. As we are making our way to the spot where we think we can pop up and get a shot i see a dog run out in front of us at a 1000 yds+ into a thicket. Well we make our way to the edge of a field next to the thicket and set up my new call (Mighty Atom 21 from Wildlife Technologies) not even 20 seconds go by and we have a dog running straight in on a line! It was awesome! So im sitting there watching this dog run at us at full sprint thru my scope and vince tells me to go ahead and take her whenever so she stops at about 150 yds and looks right at our decoy and as im squeezing the round off he says no no no and i jerk it! Well turns out he saw another dog right beind her coming in also and wanted to wait to get it in closer. So he lets one go at the far dog and misses and i reload he reloads and we relocate the other dog at 350 yds out in a dead sprint for the thickets! We both stand up and fire at the same time vince nailed her in the back leg with his .243 and i nailed her right behind the shoulder with my .308! It was a great day we are headed out again on monday hopefully post more pics! Happy Hunting!

.243? .308? Obviously not looking at doing any taxidermy on those harvested animals! haha.

IT WAS A 308 IM MOUNTING THIS ONE UP AS A SHOULDER MOUNT PEDISTAL WITH HABITAT!
