Sir Buckwheat Report post Posted May 16, 2011 Saw this while out looking for bears over the weekend up here in Utah. Its not albino, but definitely white!
Red Rabbit Report post Posted May 16, 2011 Cool. The Flagstaff paper had a set of images about a white mule deer seen recently north of town. I believe Wisconsin has protection against shooting their white deer. http://azdailysun.com/promo/homepage/collection_41ffbb20-7cb1-11e0-8425-001cc4c03286.html Doug~RR
CouesWhitetail Report post Posted May 16, 2011 Cool pic! It's called leucistic I believe. They just lack the regular pigments and so they are pale, but not true albinos.
Sir Buckwheat Report post Posted May 17, 2011 Cool pic! It's called leucistic I believe. They just lack the regular pigments and so they are pale, but not true albinos. I've never seen one before but saw two on Saturday. The other was a mature doe but I couldn't get a picture of her. The were in the same general area, but several miles apart. I've heard that it only happens in does, do you know if that is true or not? I'd love to find a buck that color...no matter how big he is!
Sir Buckwheat Report post Posted May 17, 2011 I googled it, it is present in bucks and does. However there are not many pics on the web of mulie bucks just whitetails.
db cooper Report post Posted May 17, 2011 Cool pic, I saw a doe like that near San Manuel, two seasons ago. She stuck out like a sore thumb.
