2 BP Agents killed

Recommended Posts

Unless one is trying to cross the tracks in front of a train or fallen asleep in their vehicle on the tracks, hoping to use the sound and vibration of the oncoming train to awaken them, I fail to see how two people can be killed in a vehicle in a collision with a train.

I will be very interested in learning more details about this incident. My condolences to the friends, family, and co-workers of the deceased.

Pretty sure it said they were "pursuing" illegals. Doubt they were sleeping on the tracks in hopes of the vibration to wake them up. We've all got an imagination so we can use it in regards to a couple of agents being killed after a collision with a train during a pursuit in the early morning hours. But let's first give these guys the benefit of the doubt that they're bright enough NOT to sleep on some train tracks in their SUV. I'm sure there are several on here more familiar with this area than myself but if I remember correctly, there's quite a few R/R crossings around and many aren't lighted OR well marked.

Sorry, I just get a little annoyed with assumptions when such little information is given out to the public. I see it all the time in my profession where citizens say "what were they thinking? what were they doing? are they stupid?". Usually there's a conscious decision made where even someone is injured or even killed in the process. That's why they're called accidents.

Really Biker? I mean we are talking about a collision with a multi thousand ton train and a very small and light (in comparison to the train) SUV. When any type of collision between a train and vehicle occurs the outcome is very bleak for the people in the vehicle. My Dad has worked for the Railroad as a engineer for over 40 years and he can tell you horror stories of what happens when ANY sort of collision like this happen.

Right know our thoughts and prayers should be with the two agents that lost their life just doing their jobs and their family. How exactly it happened SHOULD be a after thought at this moment IMO.

Look guys, sensitivity is not my strong suit.

I'm trying to figure out how it happened, and I'm less concerned with that it did happen. I do know people that have taken naps on the tracks in their vehicles, so going by what I know of human nature, and past expirience I could only conjure up two scenarios as to why this occured.

Like I said, I'd be interested in knowing what really happened.

This is as sensitive as I get, as it doesn't affect my life at all:

My condolences to the friends, family, and co-workers of the deceased.

Unless one is trying to cross the tracks in front of a train

It appears that's what happened.

To the friends, family, and co-workers: Sorry for your loss.
