Great bull for sure! !Looks like you got him near the end of that day. Use every minute of daylight for hunting! It pays off.

Hey that's a nice bull. I had the late rifle hunt in Unit 1. I killed mine with about 30 minutes left on Thanksgiving, the last day of the hunt. I am a firm believer that when you hunt hard you get rewarded. I'm sure you hunted hard for that bull. Congratulations man!!!

great lookin bull, especially for a late hunt. Does it only have one eyeguard on each side or does the pic just not show it very well?

thanks guys i shot him near twin arrows kinda near the burn out. second time i ever had an elk tag the first time i was ten and had no luck. but this time i had a crazy hunt i shot a small bull opening morning near andersons mesa smoked him we watched him run like 20 yards then go down at the same time another heard of elk moved acrose the same mesa where there where 3 small bulls my dad took one a small spike with one crazy horn. but in the mean time a shot came out from no like ten min after all the elk had left. this guy who could barley speak any english comes out and says he shot my bull. i couldnt belive it!!! him and my dad began to fight about it and i just decided if he wanted that bull that bad he could have it. it was just a small fork horn. so we hunted hard for the rest of the hunt and had only seen one other elk in a big canyon off the anderson mesa witch was a huge 6x7 but we ran out of light and couldnt make a move on him. so the 2ed to last day comes around and we glass up this bull bedded down and it was real late like 30 min tell sun down and no way to get a shot on him it was two thick so i put a stock on him and got with in 15 yards and took him. so i guess it all worked out in the long run... thanks guys

this is the pic of the freak horn my dad shot

That burnt area was the place to be opening morning! There were 3 6x6's on the ground in the first 1 1/2 of the hunt. I scouted for a week prior to the hunt, and found only small bulls up top. It's unfortunate about the first bull you shot, but in this instance, it was for the better! :) That's an awesome bull for a late tag, first or last minute of the hunt. Great job! JIM (I love the freak too)

Nice bulls!

I have heard what happened to your first bull a few times all with the same ending..........some coward claiming a elk/deer already on the groung to be "there's" Sad story that they can't take there own animal.

After taking another look at your dads freak horn some one from this site has a trail cam pic of that bull!! Any one remember who?
