Magazine capacity for shotgun

Recommended Posts

Does the 2 shell capacity that you use for waterfowl/dove apply to turkey? I can't find it in the regs. In other words..do you have to have a plug in your pump shotgun?

You can have up to 5 rounds for turkey! A plug is required on only migratory birds.

No plug required for turkey, but can't see one needing more than 3 anyway.

The above, which limits the TOTAL capacity to THREE shells applies only to federally regulated migratory avian critters. The following applies for all other wildlife in AZ:

R12-4-303

Unlawful Devices, Methods, and Ammunition

3. Shotguns larger than 10 gauge or shotguns capable

of holding more than five shells in the magazine,

unless plugged with a one-piece filler that cannot

be removed without disassembling the gun, and that

limits the magazine capacity to five shells;

4. Semiautomatic centerfire rifles with a magazine

capacity of more than five cartridges, unless the

magazine is modified with a filler or stop that cannot

be removed without disassembling the magazine;

Thanks for the replies. This is what I thought,but there was some discussion in camp as my son showed up without his plug in the gun. I have to agree with you, I can't remember getting more than 1 shot before they were out of range :)
