AZ FSJ'r Report post Posted April 7, 2011 Ok I was LUCKY enough to Draw an Elk tag, and a Great one this year for my First Elk hunt Thank You Elk GODS. I drew rifle hunt Sept.23-29th in Units 3A-3C, I am not familar with this area but have been cyber google scouting since the day I was drawn. I have so many questions and need direction please. I plan on scouting the area as much as my wallet will allow, but times are tough. The individual that drives around Show Low with the 442 license plate is number #2 in the world non-typical P@Y and was my client, and yes it was killed in 3C. You can see this elk on my blog under draw results are available. It is the first elk with the big kickers off both sides. Today could be your lucky day!! Call me tomorrow. bonecollector Report post Posted April 8, 2011 My wifes uncle killed a great big bull just about 400 in that unit a few years ago during the ml hunt. I think it scored 396. couesdiehard Report post Posted April 8, 2011 One problem we encountered during my wife's cow hunt in this unit last fall was that after opening day most of the elk headed straight across the FS 300 road jumped the fence and stayed on the rez the rest of the hunt. In places it looked like an elk superhighway with all the tracks heading to the rez. Turned into a tough hunt after that. Good luck there are some huge bulls in there.
