HEADACHE

Educate me please for my 19A Antilocapra hunt

Recommended Posts

So I was lucky enough to draw a tag for one of these incredible animals.

19A rifle hunt. 30 tags. STOKED! I can hardly contain myself here! and my wife just bought me a pair of vortex 15's for the hunt woot woot!

SO....reading the reg book and footnotes I can't really determine much about boundaries and what exactly is limited access and what is "free to hunt" I have assertained that I may NOT hunt the portion south of 169/69. But the western portion/northern side.... grey area.

I CERTAINLY DON'T want to anger anybody who lives out there by walking the wrong side of the fenceline, or do anything to make "those" people dislike "us people".

So if someone can draw me a mental map of whats ok to hunt, and if I need to gain access who to contact, or where to go. it would be a huge help! I have only been up to the west/north side of that unit a few times and so I have my work cut out for me this summer.

Any help greatly appreciated, thanks boys. PM's are just fine as well.

HEADACHE - I plan on learning the area quite well for my 2nd season archery tag. Look me up after september 1st and I'll let you know everything I know. Good luck....

The GFD should be sending you a map of the unit. I know they do for the archery hunters. If not, I would call and request one. It's a great map that really tells you exactly where all the public and private land is.

If you have questions regarding a specific area, let me know. I live in 19A.

Congrats on the tag and good luck.

Had the tag last year and a map will come in the mail later than the tag. Get ahold of the WM for the unit i know its a women. Huntinggpsmaps.com will sell you a map for your gps that shows private and public boundaries and can be ordered for any specific unit.

Pretty simple.. if it is not properly posted... hunt it! ...and don't drive anywhere off roads. Good luck... we killed an 88"er on that hunt a few years back can be a good hunt...

The map came in the mail last year from the game and fish and had the wildlife manager phone # on it along with the unit boundaries by road names. Call game and fish and ask to speak with the wildlife manager for 19a and they will send you the map. Best of luck and watch all the private property up on the north end of the unit as they patrol it all day throughout the season.
