ultramag Report post Posted April 4, 2011 I fished a bass tournament this weekend at alamo, the bass fishing was awesome it didn't matter what tactic you were fishing it all worked, just not any size to the fish I caught..you could easy catch 50 bass a day. The crappie fishing seemed to be good as well.I didn't fish for crappie but talked to people that had a good day. If you like to shoot carp with your bow now would be a good time. we saw hundreds there were everywhere. the water was clear down to about 12ft on the west end of the lake. elkster9 Report post Posted May 8, 2011 I just got back from Alamo. It was an awesome trip to say the least. In 12 hours of overnight fishing a buddy of mine and I caught over a 100 Crappie and 5 Slot Bass. We kept 32 Crappie, all 1.5-2lbs and released all of the bass back. The water temperature was 73 degrees and the water was calm, the wind completely died down after the sun went down. Good Luck to everyone else.
azpredator@work Report post Posted May 14, 2011 I took the family to Alamo for mother's day weekend. It's an annual trip. Every year the bass fishing is great, but this year was something speacial. My 12 year old son was cathching 30 bass a day on topwaters. From Thursday - Sunday our worst day was around 75 bass. We fished all over, but found the best banks to be on the east side of the lake for early and late topwater and down lake when the wind would cloudy up the water a 1/4 oz rattle trap was just what they wanted. I caught 8 "overs", but everything else were slot fish. Good luck to everyone.
